Privacy policy

Information under Article 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): who processes what, why and for how long when you contact us through this website.

Updated 14 September 2026. This policy applies to the website and the enquiry forms on it.

1. Data controller

UAB „Miško draugas“, company code 300011245, registered office Panevėžio g. 7, Rokiškis, Lithuania. For questions about personal data write to info@miskodraugas.lt or call +370 613 30448.

2. What data we process

  • Enquiry form data that you enter yourself: e-mail address, phone number and, optionally, name, subject, the cadastral or unique number of the plot and the text of your message.
  • Technical data: when you submit the form, your IP address is used temporarily (for up to 10 minutes) to protect against automated requests. It is not stored anywhere and is not linked to your enquiry.
  • Browser storage (not cookies): your chosen light or dark theme and your answer in the cookie banner. These entries remain only on your device – see the cookie statement.

A plot's cadastral number is public Real Property Register data, but together with your contact details it becomes personal data – we process it only so that we can value the forest.

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Responding to your enquiry and providing a forest valuation – steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in answering questions received (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Concluding and performing a forest or timber purchase contract if you decide to sell (Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • Complying with legal obligations – accounting, tax and transaction registration requirements (Art. 6(1)(c)).

We do not use the data for direct marketing, newsletters or profiling and do not pass it on to other forest buyers or intermediaries.

4. Who the data is disclosed to

Only company employees who need it to respond to your enquiry see the data. Technically it is processed by our data processors under contracts: the website hosting provider and the e-mail delivery provider (through which the form enquiry reaches our mailbox). If a processor operates outside the European Economic Area, data is transferred only with the safeguards provided for in the GDPR (standard contractual clauses). We provide data to public authorities only in cases prescribed by law.

5. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that did not lead to a transaction – up to 12 months from receipt, after which we delete them.
  • Documents related to concluded transactions – for as long as accounting and other legislation requires (usually 10 years).

6. Your rights

  • to access your data and receive a copy of it;
  • to request its rectification or erasure;
  • to restrict processing or object to processing based on legitimate interest;
  • to receive your data in a portable format;
  • to lodge a complaint with the State Data Protection Inspectorate of Lithuania (L. Sapiegos g. 17, LT-10312 Vilnius, ada@ada.lt, vdai.lrv.lt).

Send your request to info@miskodraugas.lt – we will reply within 30 days at the latest. To make sure the request was submitted by the same person, we may ask you to confirm your identity.

7. Security

The website is available only over an encrypted HTTPS connection, form data is transmitted encrypted, and only authorised employees have access to enquiries. The form requires no logins or payment details – if anyone asks for them in our name, it is not us.

8. Changes

If our data processing changes, we will update this policy and the date at the top. We will announce material changes on the website.
